Acts 28:17–31: Fettered Wrists, Burning Heart (by Jonathan Parker, Senior Pastor JBC)

During his second imprisonment in Rome, Paul writes, “Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel, for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound!” Although Paul was in chains, the gospel of Jesus Christ was spreading. Persecution, shame, and imprisonment would not keep Paul silent or stop the gospel. May God grant us hearts lit with fire for Jesus, just like Paul’s.
