CheckmateReflecting on his own hostility toward God, C.S. Lewis once said, “Who can duly adore that Love which will open the high gates to a prodigal who is brought in kicking, struggling, resentful, and darting his eyes in every direction for a chance of escape?” With white-hot fury, the apostle Paul tried to end Christianity. Now he longs for the great and small to know Jesus Christ, just like he does. What could possibly change his mind? Just like Paul, God is pursuing us. Real grace and real forgiveness is at hand for both the great and the small.
