Jonathan Parker, Senior Pastor 

Jonathan is married to Kathryn, and they have five children (Kayleigh, Abigail, Kara, Nathan, and Zoe). He has 17+ years of vocational ministry, including positions in student ministry, adult discipleship, and worship leadership. In addition to mission efforts within the United States, Pastor Jonathan has extensive international mission experience. He lived in Bogotá, Colombia, as a missionary kid and has been involved in mission efforts to Scotland, Panama, Honduras, Ukraine,  Paraguay, and Peru.
     Pastor Jonathan’s education includes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communications from George Mason University
  • Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary
  • Master of Theology from Liberty University
  • Master of Theology from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary
  • Doctor of Philosophy from Columbia International University (Columbia Biblical Seminary). His dissertation focused on imaginative apologetics in the writing of C.S. Lewis
     His desire and calling is to cultivate and develop all believers into biblical, culturally sensitive, and engaged Christians in all areas of life.
 

JC Moon, Pastor of Congregational Care and Korean Ministry

Pastor JC MoonPastor JC Moon migrated from South Korea to the United States in 1982. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA, and  his Master of Divinity and Pastoral Counseling at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He was ordained in 1999.  He serves as JBC’s Congregational Care and Korean Ministry Pastor. In addition, he has served as a pastor at Virginia Korean Baptist Church, Korean Baptist Church of Washington, and Calvary Korean Baptist Church.  Pastor JC is married to Hanna and has three children, Jessica, Jonathan, and Jamie.
 
 

Haeng Joon (HJ) Lee, Pastor of Korean Ministry

With more than 35 years ministering to Korean and American churches in the US, Pastor HJ serves as Pastor of Korean Ministry alongside Pastor JC. He earned a Master of Divinity and a Master of Church Music from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.  In addition, he earned a Doctor of Ministry from Southern Baptist Seminary.  He is married to his beautiful wife Jinhee, and they have three children, Sharon, Melody, and Justin.
 
 

Associate Pastor Cristhian Serrano, Students & Administration, JBC & Ambiente de Gracia

Pastor Cristhian Serrano was born and raised in Honduras and moved to the United States in 2010. He graduated from the Bible Training Centre For Pastors (BTCP) in 2017 and earned his Bachelor of Health Administration at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA in 2018. He worked as an administrator and as a donor relations associate for International Christian Concern (ICC) in DC before coming full time to Jerusalem Baptist church (JBC). He is married to Sari Rodas, and both serve the Lord in Ambiente de Gracia, the Hispanic fellowship here at Jerusalem Baptist Church (JBC). They are also blessed to serve with the college and the youth ministry at JBC. Cristhian and Sari have a calling to serve in God’s Kingdom as missionaries wherever the Lord leads. He is currently pursuing a Master of                                                     Divinity from Liberty University.
 

Jonathan Moon, Director of Worship & OIKOS Groups

Jonathan Moon has worked on various worship teams and has led worship for multi-ethnic, multi-generational congregations. He believes the goal of worship is to guide the congregation to a deeper understanding of who God is and to teach theology through song. Jonathan graduated with a BS in psychology from Virginia Tech and earned a Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy at Virginia Commonwealth University. 
 
 
 
 

Tony Ghareeb, Pastor of Evangelism & Outreach / New Life Arabic Ministry

Pastor Tony Ghareeb

Tony Ghareeb is of native of the Middle East. He was saved at 13 years old and soon after sensed God’s calling for the ministry. About 30 years ago, he immigrated to the United States and married to Souzan Gahreeb, and the Lord blessed them with four children. Tony has a bachelor degree in theology and a master degree in ministry from Virginia Baptist College. The Lord used him to start the Arabic Bible Baptist Church in 2000. In 2009, he passed the pastorship onto another. Currently, he pastors the New Life Arabic Ministry where we have a weekly Bible study and worship service in Arabic every Sunday morning. Tony’s passion is to evangelize the lost, disciple new believers, and plant churches. In addition, he leads an active outreach ministry to Arab and international groups in our area and beyond.  
 

Pastor Julio Ruiz, Pastor Ambiente de Gracia   

Pastor Julio has a degree in theology and has taken some courses in Canada for his master’s degree. In addition to being president of the Venezuelan Baptist Convention on three occasions, he also taught in the Baptist Theological Seminary. 
 
For about 18 years, Pastor Julio has published his sermons and articles on different websites, newspapers, and social media. He is married to Carmen Almera Ruiz and has three daughters (Laura, Oly, and Sara) and four grandchildren.
 
 

Amy Andrews, Director of Children’s Ministry

Amy Andrews Amy has been leading children’s ministries since her college days at Liberty University where she earned her BS in Elementary Education in 1997. Amy earned her Master’s of Education degree from George Mason University in 2005. She is also a licensed Reading Specialist. Amy’s spiritual gift is teaching, and she loves to teach kids about Jesus. Amy and her husband, Matt, were missionaries in North Africa where they taught at an American School for two years before returning to the states in 2000. She has been on short-term mission trips to Kiev (Ukraine) and Moscow (Russia). Amy has directed the SMAK musical for more than 10 years and loves to sing and dance with kids. She led AWANA games for several years before taking on her current role as Commander. In addition to being a Sunday school teacher for many years, Amy has taught private preschool and public elementary school classes as well as ESL classes for adults. Amy has been married to Matt for 20+ years, and they have three children, Sarah Grace (August 2007), Brianna (July 2009,) and Josiah (April 2013).
 

Monique Burgos, Mothers’ Day Out Preschool Director 

Monique started at our Mothers’ Day Out Preschool program as a Pre-K teacher in 2000. In 2002, she was made director of the preschool and she has built the program into a sought-after and successful program. She has taken  hours of advanced training in early childhood education and preschool administration. She is married to Jose and has a two sons (Dante and Joey) and a daughter (Sarai) along with two grandchildren.
